Japanese Side

You can never take sides until you hear both sides of the story. Japanese people have a history of hunting whales for food. This is the counterargument of whale hunting.  Japanese people were known to kill whales since 10,000 BC. It is a tradition for them to kill whales for food and other uses. Japanese people could argue that killing whales is their culture and it must continue through generations to come. Actually, the Japanese has accused Animal Planet of EcoTerrorism. But why do they hunt whales when there are other food products to eat? The Americans do interupt the Japanese mission. The Americans were the ones who started stalking the Japanese ship and they threw rancid butter at them!! The Japanese is also attempting to press charges since 2000 for harrassment. According to them, they would like to have a "red notice" to have a warrant to arrest anyone who tries to harm them. The Japanese has permission from the International Whaling Commission to hunt whales in the Antartica. In an article called "
Japanese Whale Researchers: Animal Planet Collaborated With Ecoterrorists During 'Whale Wars' Production" by Underwater Times News Service (Washington D.C),  the american attacks included,"The violence of the deployment of propeller fouling devices constructed from steel cables, throwing acid, smoke bombs and bottles onto the decks of the ICR vessels and attempted collisions. Sea Shepherd has also welded a seven-foot steel blade to its ships to open the hulls of the vessels it attacks". Animal Planet seems to take the American side but the Japanese media also exploits the Americans of their actions. Some of the American actions are unnecessary such as welding a seven foot steel blade. Maybe the Americans are pretending to care about whales just to be on television.
